<p>Believe it or not, more than seven hundred million people who currently suffer from this aggravating condition to one extent or the other, and while it might not be a serious problem with many, for others it can impact their relationships as well as their long term health.</p>

<p><b>What is sleep apnea?</b></p>
<p>The word apnea means the &#8220;absence of breath;&#8221; thus, sleep apnea is a disorder characterized by pauses of breath &#8211; usually for an interval of 10 seconds or more. Although the sufferers of this condition are rarely aware of their episodes, they experience symptoms such as loud snoring and sleepiness during the day.</p>
<p>Sleep apnea can be characterized as obstructive, central or mixed. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common and happens when the upper airway becomes narrow due to the collapse of the tissues in it. Central sleep apnea (CSA) is caused by an abnormality in the central nervous system &#8211; the inability of the brain to tell your muscles to breathe. Mixed apnea is a combination of the two.</p>
<p>As with any other physical condition, sleep apnea must be treated. If you have been diagnosed to have one, your doctor would most likely prescribe the use of a CPAP machine &#8211; in Toronto or elsewhere. A CPAP (continuous positive airflow pressure) machine supplies constant air pressure (usually ranging from 6 to 14 cm H2O to prevent the tissues in your upper airway from collapsing. As a result, the airway becomes wider &#8211; and breathing becomes easier for you.</p>

<p><B>Lavender</B> has been used for centuries to calm the nerves and lavender essential oil can be added to the bath water for a soothing, calming effect. Lavender can also be used as a massage oil or lavender sachets placed on the pillow to inhale as you fall asleep.</p>
<p><B>Passion Flower</B> is often recommended by herbalists as an important herb in the treatment of insomnia especially when it is caused by stress or nervous exhaustion. It can be used by both children and adults and is an excellent sedative that has no known side effects.</p>
<p><B>Chamomile</B> is a safe herb that can be used by children and adults. In the form of chamomile tea it can soothe restlessness and irritability, especially in children. Have a relaxing bath with chamomile oil added to the water before bed. It can also be used as a massage oil.</p>
<p><B>California Poppy</B> is found in many herbal natural insomnia cures and helps to promote sleep by easing anxiety and helping you to relax. <p>If like me you sound like a bear growling a cave when your asleep, then you will no that snoring has a big impact on life. Regardless of the health issues (which are significant), snoring can play havoc with your relationship.</p>
<p>If you are at you wits end with being woken up every hour either to the sound of your own snoring, or being dug in the back and told to &#8220;Roll Over&#8221;; or if you are the long suffering sufferer of a snorer, then read over these five tips to snoring treatment.</p>
<p>SNORING TREATMENT TIP 1.</p>
<p>Take a look at your diet. Although this probably won’t be the complete snoring treatment answer, it is worth starting with what you’re eating and drinking. You could well have intolerance to certain foods which affects your breathing, especially when lying on you back. For example, too much (or an intolerance to) dairy produce is likely to cause you to become blocked up with mucus, when horizontal, this collects causing heavy breathing and snoring. Alcohol is another common offender.</p>
<p>SNORING TREATMENT TIP 2.</p>
<p>Being overweight is another significant contributor. Excess weight in the neck and chest puts pressure on the breathing passage.</p>
<p>SNORING TREATMENT TIP 3</p>
<p>Sleep on you side or front. Now this is easier said than done, because it’s hard to control your sleeping position when you are asleep! However, there is an old trick that may be worth considering. You could sow a walnut, table tennis ball or similar size object into the back of a shirt and wear that in bed. Each time you roll on your back it will dig into you, causing you to roll back again – providing you don’t take your shirt of in your sleep.</p>
<p>SNORING TREATMENT TIP 4</p>
<p>Use nasal strips. I found these to be very helpful, at least to start with. Nasal strips (often used by athletes) open the air passage for you, thus removing or preventing blockages. If your desperate it’s worth a try, but the cost can add up over the days, months and years.</p>
<p>SNORING TREATMENT TIP 5</p>
<p>I’ve saved the best until last. Exercising the muscles in your throat, tongue and doing breathing exercises can completely cure your snoring.</p>

Try sleeping on your side instead. This may help to prevent your airways from being blocked, which is what tends to happen when apnea sufferers sleep on their back. If you suffer from allergies, rid your home of any/all allergens, including pet hair, cigarette smoke and dust. Regular cleaning and the use of air filtration units in each room will go a long way in helping you to breathe cleaner air. </p>
<p>Obesity is a major concern that often leads to sleep apnea. Therefore, one of the best sleep apnea remedies is to simply begin a healthy, well-balanced program consisting of diet and exercise. If you are overweight, or have recently been diagnosed with obesity, losing weight will help to curb sleep apnea as well as possibly prevent other health problems in the future. <p>One of the most effective home remedies for snoring is to sleep on your side. If you always find yourself sleeping on your back, you may never guess that your sleeping position is directly linked to snoring. When you sleep on your back, the muscles and tissue are more likely to relax in the back of the throat, restrict your airway passage and cause snoring. In addition, sleeping on two pillows instead of one is among the popular home remedies for snoring. The additional elevation may help to keep your airways open.</p>
<p>If you suffer from allergies, try inhaling steam from hot running water before you go to bed. The heat may help to open up the nasal passages and improve breathing. The same is true if you are prone to sinus infections or have recently been diagnosed with a cold or the flu. One of the best home remedies for snoring is to simply improve the quality of air that you breathe. If your airways are restricted, snoring is much more likely. <p>Cotton Mouth disease also know as Mouth Fungus is a disease your fish can get and it needs to be dealt with quickly. Cotton Mouth disease is not as common as the while spot disease, but, it is highly infectious and contagious. </p>
<p>The victim fish shows a whitish fungus round the cheeks and lips. The lips may become swollen and rot away. Sometimes a rotten strip of lip attached only at one end will move in and out of the mouth as the fish breathes. </p>
<p>Fish infected with Mouth Fungus lose their appetite and their movement become sluggish. If no adequate treatment is given, the whole frontal part of the head may be eaten away finally and the fish dies. </p>
<p>Unless the affected fish is of consideration value, it should be killed before this fatal disease attack sthe other occupants, of the tank. Think about it&#8230; is trying to save the life of one fish worth risking the death of the rest of the fish in your aquarium? </p>
<p>But if you insist on keeping the fish or in case the infection has already been passed on to other occupants, the following treatment is advised: </p>
<p>- Swabbing the mouth of the victim fish with a soft cloth dipped in strong salt solution. Then you must then keep the patreat isolated in a bucket or jar containing a strong salt water. </p>
<p>- Try swabbing the lips with a 5 per cent silver mercury preparation. </p>
<p>- Make a solution of Terramycin or Aureomycuin by dissolving 50mg per gallon of water, a rapid cure is expected within 48 hours. </p>
<p>You can try all of the above remedies, but the most common remedy is the popular Methylene blue solution. To perform this remedy the sick fish should be placed in a jar, bucket or a treatment tank into which has been added a methylene per blue to colour the water deep blue.</p>

Some people think that drinking herbal tea instead of coffee will end the noisy slumber. Others claim that the trick is to make sure that the air isn&#8217;t too dry in your room.</p>
<p>According to scientists, however, herbal teas and humidifiers aren&#8217;t notable snoring cures. Instead, your first step is to try to sleep on your side. By sleeping on your side, as opposed to your back, gravity will pull your tongue to the side of your mouth and away from the back of your throat. The result, in many cases, is a drastic reduction in snoring. This is the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to quit snoring fast. If that doesn&#8217;t work, however, you may need to make more drastic life changes.</p>
<p>Such life changes include losing weight and ending smoking habits. Getting fit and kicking the habit are both two proven snoring cures, although they work for different reasons.
